It's been a long time. Really.

Recent updates in the WS world:
- Fairy Tail.
- Nanoha A's.
- Angel Beats & Kud Wafter.
- D.C. D.C. II P.C. Extra Booster.

Upcoming in the remaining of this year, and onto the next:
- Melty Blood
- Evangelion Movie
- Milky Holmes

Will be getting to a review on the D.C. D.C. II P.C. Booster as well as Extra booster soon, as well as a couple of sharing of ideas, regarding the D.C D.C. II Neo Standard decks.

Weiβ Schwarz Extra: Release of D.C. D.C. II P.C. TD in Japan

Today's the day the Trial Deck for D.C. D.C. II Plus Communication is released in Japan.

Looking at the cards for the Trial Deck... I won't say it's exceptionally good, although it does have some superb cards.

For starters, the number of Level 2 or above Character cards inside is kind of on the low side, with only 7.

Well, maybe it's because of the Memory-going Level 0 and 1 cards in the deck... Which helps to thin the deck so you can draw the Level 2s more?

But judging from the cards in this Trial Deck, people can easily anticipate a lot more powerful cards to be released in the Booster series.

Though I don't seem to know if there would be a Change mechanic in this pack... They DO have a new ability type- Recollections.

We can only wait for the release of the Booster in exactly 4 weeks time.

And hopefully, there'll be some spoilers of the booster via the Official Site's today's featured card corner.

And on a side note, the Trial Deck for To Aru Kagaku no Railgun is also set for release in March 27. Kind of looking forward to what cards it may contain too.

My most used Combo...

The first card on the Key Card List, Y-shirt Minatsu, sports the "Specific Chara +1000" effect, but that really isn't the key point here because power doesn't matter in this deck.

The Second effect, the one that gives a Suicide/ Kamikaze/ Self-Destruct ability to the charas in front of it is what makes this combo the strong one.

Among many deck types in WS, most decks take pride in their power level. And yes it does reach over 9000 at times. Before you crush that scouter of yours, look at the other option of winning a battle provided by this kind of effect. If you can't defeat them, just bring them down together with you!

And the best card in D.C. D.C. II to go with this card/ effect is Yukimura Anzu. The power may be a little on the small side, but its effect is what makes it shine.

Whenever it attacks, you can pay a small cost of 1 stock to draw a card, and with the climax in play, you can draw an additional 1 for no cost. That's 2 cards with 1 stock and climax!

That makes her self-Encore ability much easier to use here. With the mass drawing you'll do with this chara, you can easily draw out the charas needed for the Encore cost, and save her from the hell known as the Waiting Room.

And with Y-shirt Minatsu, Yukimura Anzu will be able to take down any level 2 or below chara with another 1 cost.

It's a never-dying shield of thorns, yeah.

But well, this combo is rather hard to maintain as it's pretty cost-heavy. When you attack, you'll pay 1 to draw a card, so as to make sure you have enough chara to Encore. Next will be the trigger, which'll replenish the 1 cost you've paid to draw. And right after that, you'll pay yet another cost to take the opposing chara down with you. That's an overall stock cost of -1.

And this combo can only deal with pretty much anything level 2 and below. And you'll probably won't like it when the opponent easily overpowers you with Level 1 charas and forces you to pay 1 to take both chara down. And of course, recently there's been a lot of Anti-Encore cards, which can be deadly for this deck.

We've seen a Level 1 and 2 based Combo, now for the Level 3.

Grand Participation occurs when your chara with that ability is in the middle of your stage, and isn't in Reverse state. All your opponent's chara are forced to front attack this chara with GP, regardless of their borders.

Swimsuit Sakura has a rather small power at 9000, and can be easily run over by most level 2s with appropriate support. But, with 2 Utamaru in the Back Row, your Swimsuit Sakura becomes a wooping 12000 power.

And Swimsuit Sakura has a decent ability of its own. With a cost of 6 stock, you can return all of your opponent's front row chara to his hand, leaving him wide open for an all-out attack.

Well sure, it's a great combo, but level 3 is a little too late. Too bad there's only GP chara for level 3. You can easily get zerg rushed to death even with your almighty GP shield.

Now that we've seen the few main chara based combo in the main booster series, we'll take a look at the 2 Extra Packs D.C. D.C. II has.

D.C. D.C. II Extra Pack, A.K.A. Mizugi Pack, provides various cards that requires revealing the top card of your deck to activate various effects. And to go with this, there's the almighty deck top manipulation card Playing by the Stream, which was widely abused in Brainstorm combos.

D.C. II P.C., while making more cards that emphasize on the revealing-top-card theme that the Mizugi pack has introduced, it also provides a few new deck options, like Hydrangea Field Mayuki and Swimsuit Erika, which has given the Trait Seitokai more playability. And Miko Clothes Maya is certainly a great card for a Mecha deck, with its stock adding ability outside of the colour Green.

And this coming March, we'll be getting a further expansion of the DC series: D.C. D.C. II Plus Communication. A new ability keyword surfaces...and a brand new theme of effects. It's certainly worth looking forward to.

Chaos Extra: Start of another new card game...

Finally got my first Chaos trial deck...

And finally tried a few rounds of this new game...

It really isn't that bad, but I won't have any reviews up anytime soon...

Not until Navel's TD or booster set is released I guess.

Will be brushing up my Chaos and teaching skills for AFA...

Apparently, I'm a helper at AFA to teach Chaos...

I'm not really confident in teaching others, but I've no choice but tot ry my best, since I asked for it.

It's not like I can't do it at all as well...

Will continue with the D.C. D.C. II reviews soon... sometime after AFA.

Weiβ Schwarz Extra: A little Break...

Exams are coming, so I really ought to study for them.

Another reason is because I'm currently researching on Chaos TCG, yet another wonderful card game by Bushiroad.... Still in the process of learning.

Weiβ Schwarz #7: D.C. D.C. II- Strongest Pack in History, Part 1

One of the first few sets in WS... D.C. D.C. II...

Consist of 2 series... D.C. (D.C.P.C. included) + D.C. II

As one of the older sets...some of the cards may be outdated... But still, there exists many powerful combos that only older sets will have...

This series of reviews will focus on the few stronger combos in this pack... And to start the ball rolling... I'll review on the strongest combo in this series...

Combo #1: Miha-Nemu Beat

Soul: 1 Power: 500

[Passive] All your other Chara with [Nemu] in their name gains +500 power.
[Passive] Support: Charas in front of this card gains +500 power.

This type of support (Chara of this name/ Chara of this trait +500, Support +500) happens to be the best type of support there is in this game (Besides "Specific Chara +1000). It provides a 1500 power boost for side Charas, and a whooping 2000 boost for the Chara in the Center.

Well...just a strong support won't make this the strongest combo... what makes it truly strong is the cards that it actually supports... Nemu.

In D.C. D.C. II, Nemu happens to have Chara cards from all Levels... Meaning that all your levels are basically covered, and all you need is one type of support. Very, very Convenient.

While the power level reached is not the highest, it's still way above the average power, and considering that you don't need many cards to achieve this combo, it's actually really, really stable.

And Nemu and Miharu happens to be of the Red faction... meaning if any parts of your combo falls to the Waiting Room...you can easily retrieve them by the many Chara retrieval cards present in Red. And since it's only 1 colour, it's fairly easy to form a deck around this, with Miharu + Nemu cards plus another colour you like. Recommended here is Blue, as it provides Hand Advantage, which can easily net you the cards you need for the combo.

My favourite combo...because my there's my favourite chara.

Anyways... this is a pretty decent combo in D.C. D.C. II.

Kimono Nanaka gives all Tsukishima Koko 1000 Power boost, and can retrieve it from the Waiting Room with only 1 cost.

With two in the backrow, all your Tsukishima Koko will get a permanent 2000 boost, making them 1/1 7500 Encore Charas.

This easily overpowers most of the other Level 1 Charas present in the game, and even the Level 1s from Miha-Nemu.

And...on your opponent's turn, with appropriate counters (E.g. Pajamas Akane, free Assisting Blade for Charas with Koko or Anzu in their name), Tsukishima Koko can reach at least 9000.... Very, very powerful...considering that it's a Level 1.

There's 1 pretty obvious reason why this combo is weaker than the the first... This combo, unlike the previous 1, can most likely cover only your Level 1 and Early Level 2. When you're Level 2, you would want to play the more powerful Level 2 Characters with the appropriate support, but this combo would jam your own field, so you would have to "kill" your own Charas. But still, having Encore really helps, and if you actually have the hand size for it...it can last your whole game...

Having said that, this is best used with Blue or Red, preferably the latter, as it can net you more Charas from the Waiting Room.

Weiβ Schwarz #6: ACME- 1st official WS Tournament Aftermath

Ok...so today was the 1st ever official tournament for WS in Singapore...

First I'll report on my status...

Number of wins: 2

Number of losses: 2

...So I didn't got into the Top 8...

Played a total of 4 games...

1st game: Against Futago (mixed)
I was really worried when I saw the Support Kagami appearing...but after a few attacks...
It seemed like he couldn't cancel much and I won.

2nd game: Against Shining Force
This one was a really close one. He actually had enough stock to play the event to retrieve 2 chara cards from the Waiting Room and play them... I took all the damage and was defeated...

3rd game: Little Busters!: Haruka and Kanata
Yet another close match. My opponent, who happens to be my good friend HD, got 1 last damage cancel... apparently he has no more climax left in his deck.... I lost simply because I didn't cancel the last bit of damage... Knew that I should have clocked and thinned my deck...

4th game: Against Nanoha + D.C. II deck
Since it was the last game for me... I just played it like it wasn't a tournament deck... I just relaxed and stuff... Obtained Perfect Field (TM) and totally won that game.

So that's the tournament for me...

On a side note, the Champion's a Nanoha Trial Deck. Epic.

Moving on... Besides the main event, which is the tournament, I've spammed D.C. D.C. II packs as well as 1 box of D.C. II P.C. extra pack...which was supposed to be 2...

And after trading around... I find myself having many cards to form a new deck ^^.

This event was a rather meaningful one... I hope there'll be many more events like this in the future...

There isn't any main point in this deck.

More like, it changes between the levels.

At Level 0, it's mainly having my suicide characters take the stage (no pun intended).
With 2 Vitas and 4 Myus... it's easy to get some sort of field control for a while.
Side note: Lv 0 Riemsianne is a good starter...

At Level 1, it's mainly pure beat... I have a decent number "Weapon" trait characters... so I can easily power up Gilgamesh to run over big stuffs... And I have Komari for support and light removal... same as Nanoha & Vita...

At Level 2 and 3, the deck turns from Red to Yellow. Irreplaceable Friends and Mama Iiko is used to recover much of the dropped Lv 2 Characters. Miko Otome will be the key card in Level 2... And once I reach Level 3, Kyou will be used to deal the final blow one way or the other.

Well, more likea fixed strategy, this deck is just filled with cards that I don't hate.

It works oddly well though.

Well, it used to be cheaper than a TD...but with the prices nowadays... it would be maybe around 1.5 to 2 times the price?

It was great practice last time building this deck, because I knew pretty much nothing about the card game and just slap a whole pile of cards in reasonable amount together... to form a slightly workable deck.

Main problem with this deck would be the lack of Lv 1 and 2 beaters, while there's too much Lv 0. At Lv 1, one can only pray he draws at least 1 or 2 Ginga & Subaru, which is actually the key card of the deck. With Divine Buster in play, whenever Ginga & Subaru attacks, all your other charas gets a 1000 power boost, which is very useful here with little beaters... you would want them to stay in the stage for as long as they can hold...

The Lv 3s are in there just because I felt that WS decks needs their "boss" charas to be fun and stuff.... It's in there just for the clock recovery I guess....

And also, the whole deck is only made of Us and Cs... so it can easily be improved by slapping Rs or even RRs into this deck...

Still, it holds it front in a real game...though it doesn't look like it does.

P.S. This deck is already history... so yeah... And also...won't be reviewing the D.C. D.C. II version of "It is cheaper than a TD but is stronger"...because a) It isn't really that good and b) It wasn't cheap.

4 RRs and 4 CRs as promised... but one thing's different... I have another yellow RR instead of a blue one...which was pretty cool because the blue ones aren't really useful to me...

Rs wise... I did get most of the Rs I wanted....

And borrowed whatever wasn't enough...

Uncommons and commons....stocked on those I wanted so I could make decks...

It wasn't possible to get a playset of commons in 1 box....

Sad...but true.

Foil wise... I've only got a SR...so it really isn't worth talking about...

Ok...so this humble little blog of mine has just started to record my venture into this card game "Weiβ Schwarz". It's a totally different card game from Duel Masters or Yu-Gi-Oh. Ok, a quick review on my gets.

One box -> 20 Packs -> 4 RRs of each colour, 4 CRs of Each Colour, and 1 SP/RRR/SR

Me-> 10 Packs-> 3 RRs, 3 CRs, 0 SP/RRR/SR

Beginner's Luck, I guess.

Highlight of my gets would be "Ace of Ace" Nanoha and Starlight Breaker.

They are a set of cards that work together, and are highly wanted by any Nanoha players.

I got AoA Nanoha in my first pack. Like wow.

Starlight Breaker follows in my 3rd pack, My second was my 2nd RR, "Shin Sonic Form" Fate.

Pretty cool.

Will soon review the Original WS Deck Idea "It's like a trial deck but is cheaper and stronger than one".
